Because (TENS) technology is unrecognizable to many, the design goal was to make the product something that people would instantly associate to comfort and trust. The result was to visually simplify a very complex and often scary technology into to a simple icon that people already know and relate to health and recovery - the band aide.
To use it, you simply peel the liner from the reusable gel band, stick it to the area where you feel pain, and then attach the electronic Cur pod. After a few seconds, Cur will adjust to your body and begin sending out electrical signals to negate the pain.

GLIDE is a concept project designed for an international design exhibition in Taiwan. The theme for the gallery was to interpret the word ‘invisible’ into an innovative, meaningful or beautiful object.
I approached the word ‘invisible’ as something that described a product that leaves the smallest possible ecological footprint in its lifetime. To me, applying ‘invisible’ to an everyday product meant redesigning a complex, wasteful or redundant object into something iconic, intuitive and everlasting.
By its namesake, the ‘iron’ was historically designed a single solid piece of metal, heated in front of a fire and reheated when needed.. This modern translation of that original design visualizes the iron instead, as a solid piece of glass that is heated in a microwave. A simple liquid thermometer allows the user to gauge the heat level against the amount of time it is heated prior to each use.
In this way, Glide shows that it has potential to become more efficient, ecologically friendly, ergonomic and beautiful - while leaving the smallest mark globally in its use or manufacture.
Poetically, Glide being made from Pyrex lends also itself to the concept of invisibility, and the idea that an iron removes creases from clothing (making them ‘invisible’) adds to the metaphor.

In 2013, The Spectre XT is HP’s state of the art flagship ultrabook. The design challenge was to envision HP’s design language into a cutting edge design language that communicates premium construction, razor thin design and ultimate performance. The design language had to be adaptable enough easily to migrate across several sizes and styles of notebooks - making it appealing to a multi-tiered consumer base over several seasons.
To design the Spectre, several rounds of development and refinement are essential to visualize, communicate and fine tune the expression and appropriate exactly how brand elements are integrated. Core phases include: Brand language visualization, iterative 3-d exploration, conceptual visualization, functional refinement and refinement for production.
The program yielded many design identity elements that can be showcased on many products, to visually link them as a family of HP products.
By extending the touchpad dish off the front of the notebook, the groove has a second function as gap to lift the lid of the notebook and also makes the notebook visually distinct when closed. The blocked out hinge with metal accents and perfectly placed logo communicates a bold robustness that is instantly recognizable and unmistakable. The brushed aluminum stamped cover and palm rest parts are adorned with a machine finished, diamond cut edge - a premium detail that enhances the solid aluminum construction.
The result is a stunning, premium ultrabook that is economically mass market and allows HP to uncompromisingly commit to quality, performance and innovation.
CVBE is a luxury dice set designed to be a boutique game set or a simple, premium accessory.
Each face of the die geometrically shows the number as a series of precision facets. When the light reflects from each individual face, the result is a stunning display of that side’s numerical value.
CVBE is CNC cut from aerospace grade aluminum to ensure that they are the light and most durable over long term use and then color anodized. The scale and weight was carefully selected after several rounds of prototyping in ABS plastic, Metal and Acrylic to give it enough weight to feel valuable and highly visible when rolled.
In a regulation die, manufacturers drill holes at different depths to make sure that the dice are weighted evenly - ensuring perfect random odds for each roll. In CVBE, because the depths of each side and the number of facets are each variables that affect the roll, the center of weight has been carefully programmed by parametric modeling, to the exact center of gravity to ensure a mathematically perfect roll.

Switch is a groundbreaking, high efficiency LED light bulb that outsmarted an industry.
LED bulbs have a fundamental problem with heat and wattage. Typical LED bulbs can’t get very bright at high wattages because heat-sinks are only capable of dispersing a set amount of heat, cooling the bulb at a rate sufficient for it to not overheat.
Switch’s ingenious idea solved the heat sink issue by filling the LED bulb with a liquid. As the liquid heats, it creates a circular convection cell within the bulb, efficiently cooling the LED chips better than aluminum. In turn, Switch was able to put less LED’s within each bulb and dramatically lower production cost while increasing the longevity of each bulb.
The result is a striking design which challenges the basic premise of how LED bulbs look and function.

The overall design goal was to make the Band One a thin, uniform band that is a simple, physical manifestation of the Microsoft brand. It’s not a watch and not just a fitness tracker - it’s a wearable that is deceptively simple that will fit anyone and has the power to deliver an extraordinary amount of data when you need it.
Band One is considered by industry experts to be Microsoft’s most ambitious product release of recent time. Because of the amount and fidelity of data that Microsoft hoped to ascertain from this advanced new wearable, innovative design and state of the art ergonomic solutions had to be implemented to achieve these lofty goals and achieve mainstream adoption.
Among almost a dozen sensors built into this tiny device are a GPS receiver, a TFT touch display, microphone, ambient light sensor, pedometer, three-axis gyro sensor, thermometer, three-axis accelerometer, optical heart rate sensor, UV sensor and a 48 hour battery life.
The Band One was designed to fit all wrist sizes, ambitiously offering three sizes with a premium latch and release adjustment system. Because of non-watch orientation of information, the screen was designed to be worn on the inside of the wrist.
